This course will focus on the purpose for grounding and understanding of the grounding systems.  Code article 250 covering grounding and bonding requirement will be referenced throughout the course.  The course will review the overall performance and objectives for grounding and bonding of electrical systems.  Definition of grounding and bonding will be reviewed as it is used in the NEC.  We will examine the different types of grounding systems.  We will review grounding electrodes, types, the measurement of earth grounding electrodes, and function of the electrodes. The course will review grounding of generator, transfer switches and interconnected electrical systems.

This is a continuation of Part I of Grounding and Bonding. We will review grounding of equipment to insure and effective ground fault path for proper operation of protection equipment.  We will evaluate grounding for fault protection, signal reference, lightning protection and safety.  The course will review DC system grounding methods.  We will discuss the operation and application of GFCI.  We will discuss equipotential plane, bonding, and single point grounding along with stray voltage, sources, and mitigation for stray voltage.
